Jo Lamprinopoulou is a Psychodynamic and CBT Psychotherapist, Trainer, Clinical Supervisor, Project Developer and Manager with long standing experience in early identification and prevention of emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties and has a special interest in developing and evaluating Community Psychology projects on unmet identified emotional wellbeing and mental health needs. In the past 20 years Jo has worked in a variety of public settings including education, children services, voluntary sector and mainly for the NHS.
In her clinical work, Jo employs a reflective ‘scientist-practitioner’ approach with particular emphasis on compassion-in-mind and evidence-based practice using the ethos and principles of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT).
In Line Management and Clinical Supervision Jo is using an eclectic supervisory style with a main focus on CBTS and positive outcomes through goal setting tailored-made to individual needs and wishes.
Jo’s research interests are on self-defined identity and on digital guided-self help (GSH) in reducing stigma and barriers for accessing psychological support at time of need.
Jo works in University College London (UCL) as a Module Lead for the Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) clinical training course, as a Course Tutor in the Supervisors’ course and as a Work Discussion Group (WDG) Facilitator for the MSc in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice (DPCP).
Additionally, Jo is a Clinical Practice Tutor in the Recruit to Train (RtT) clinical training programme (CBT modality) at King’s College London (KCL).
Jo Lamprinopoulou holds a Graduate Membership with the British psychological Society (BPS) and is an Accredited member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BABCP) and with the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists (BABCP), as well as a certified member of the European Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Therapies (EABCT).
Jo Lamprinopoulou finally holds a recognised license to practice as a Psychologist by the Hellenic Authorities of Public Health and Social Care, Department of Health Services and Professions.
